Bremo Slave Chapel built in 1835 as part of the Bremo Plantation. It was moved to its present location in the 1880s and is part of Grace Episcopal Church in Bremo Bluff. Address: 754 Bremo Bluff Rd, Bremo Bluff, VA 23022


Cows is a difficult one to describe or locate. They are kind of all over the county!


Dunbar Schoolhouse was built as part of the Rosenwald School project. It served local African American children for elementary education until the 1950s. Address: 2524 Mountain Hill Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963

The Lake Monticello Golf Course is a par 72 course designed by Buddy Loving. The course is open to non-Lake Monticello residents. Address: 51 Bunker Blvd, Palmyra, VA 22963


The Hardware River Wildlife Management Area is part of the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources. You can hunt, fish, boat and more at the WMA. Address: End of Hardware Rd, Scottsville, VA 24590


I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Papa Jim's Soft Serve Ice Cream serves frozen treats on Route 15 in Troy. Address: 19289 James Madison Hwy, Troy, VA 22974


James River is the county's southern border spanning from Scottsville to Columbia. The only boat ramp in Fluvanna is located at the Hardware WMA although there are ramps in Scottsville and Columbia.


Kents Store is a rural area on the eastern portion of Fluvanna County. In Kents Store is a post office, fire station, community center, rescue squad and a funeral home. 


Lake Monticello is a private lake and the largest housing subdivision in the county. Started in the 1970s, Lake Monticello is home to many of Fluvanna's residents.


Maggie's House is the home of the Fluvanna County Historical Society. The Society operates tours of the Old Stone Jail and the Historic Courthouse in the Village of Palmyra. Address: 14 Stone Jail St, Palmyra, VA 22963


Scheier Natural Area is maintained by Rivanna Conservation Alliance. There are three miles of walking trails, a parking area and an outhouse. Address: 917 Long Acre Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963


The Old Stone Jail was built in 1828 and designed by Gen. John Hartwell Cocke. The building became a museum in 1963. Tours can be arranged by the Fluvanna Historical Scoiety. Address: 28 Stone Jail St, Palmyra, VA 22963


Pleasant Grove Park is the 900 acre park operated by Fluvanna's Park and Recreation Department. Home to 22 miles of  trails, the park has something for everyone. Address: 271 Pleasant Grove Dr, Palmyra, VA 22963

Rivanna River bisects Fluvanna County until it meets the James River near Columbia. There are two boat ramps: one at Crofton and one in Palmyra. Residents can also enjoy the river from Sandy Beach at Pleasant Grove Park.


Spraggs-Key Auditorium is named after long-time principal (1958-1982) Rev. Paul Spraggs and long-time secretary (1962-2012) Elva Key. The auditorium serves Central Elementary. Address: 3340 Central Plains Rd, Palmyra, VA 22963


Tennis Courts at Fluvanna County High School have six courts available for resident use when not used by the Flucos. Address: 1918 Thomas Jefferson Pkwy, Palmyra, VA 22963


Lake Monticello's Main Beach has two large umbrellas to keep beach goers out of the sun. Only open to LMOA residents and guests. Address: 41 Ashlawn Blvd, Palmyra, VA 22963


Volunteer firefighters give their time to keep the community safe from fires. Fluvanna volunteers operate four fire stations: Palmyra, Kents Store, Fork Union and Lake Monticello.


Pleasant Grove Park has intentionally managed meadows for wildlife growth. Four meadows are inspected and kept on schedule for maximum wildlife enjoyment. Address: 271 Pleasant Grove Dr, Palmyra, VA 22963


The Fluvanna Public Library has eXcellent content available for resident use. The library is open six days a week and also provides online resources. Address: 214 Commons Blvd, Palmyra, VA 22963


Yesteryear's farming tools are on display at the Farm Heritage Museum. Thanks to generous donations , the museum includes equipment used in Fluvanna. Address: 271 Pleasant Grove Dr, Palmyra, VA 22963


Zion Crossroads area is Fluvanna's future growth. The Zion Crossroads Water and Sewer System Tower was named the 10th Best tower in 2020, the year it was built.
